Corrigan Moving Systems Participates in American Diabetes Association’s Tour de Cure
Corrigan employees volunteer time, raise more than $4,000 for diabetes research
ROCHESTER, N.Y., June 11, 2014–Corrigan Moving Systems, a Rochester relocation company dedicated to elevating the moving experience for families and businesses, recently partnered with the American Diabetes Association for a second consecutive year, participating in the organization’s 15-mile Tour de Cure bike run on June 8. Corrigan General Manager Marabeth Galardi made the announcement.
In an effort to raise awareness for diabetes, a team of five Corrigan employees volunteered their time to complete the 15-mile, American Diabetes Association’s Tour de Cure cycling event, which supports finding a cure for diabetes and improving the lives of those affected by the disease. Sponsored by Corrigan and coworkers, the team — comprised of James Crawford, Geoff Fairchild, Tal Steinberg-Wiggins, Mike Lenyk and Rob Galardi — tripled their fundraising amount from the previous year, bringing this year’s grand total to $4,363 for diabetes research.
“As a family-owned relocation company, Corrigan is used to traveling thousands of miles to move lives, and we were honored to carry on that tradition in a different and unique way through the Tour de Cure,” said Galardi. “I am proud of our team in Rochester for participating in this inspiring event and giving so generously to support not only those in our community affected by this disease, but also the continued research for a cure.”
Sponsored by the American Diabetes Association, the Tour de Cure is an annual cycling event that takes place in over 40 states nationwide and aims to raise funds for diabetes research, education and advocacy. Annually, this event raises over $26 million to find a cure for diabetes and to support the American Diabetes Association’s mission of improving the lives of all people affected by the disease.
Tour de Cure is a part of Corrigan Rochester’s spring charity initiative, during which the company donated its time and services to other local companies such as Move for Hunger, the National Center for Mission and Exploited Children’s Ride for Missing Children, and Pirate Toy Fund.
