Meet the Movers – Ann Arbor Moving Company

Starting today, we are going to begin a new blog series, Meet the Movers, which will focus on each of our branch locations and give you some additional personal information about the team of employees we have working at each of our branch locations. First up in the series is our Ann Arbor location.

The Ann Arbor location of Corrigan Moving was opened in 1969. This was Corrigan’s first expansion venture. Prior to this, Corrigan was a one-branch moving company located in Dearborn. Corrigan purchased a small moving company called Hurd Moving. Originally there was no warehouse, and so we operated HurdCorriganout of a rented Quonset hut until we were able to buy some land and build a warehouse. At first we operated under the name Hurd-Corrigan, but switched to Corrigan Moving Systems a few years later.

Today the Ann Arbor branch has about 35 movers and 8 office staff working at this location. Located on Ellsworth Road, between Platt and Carpenter Road, we have two warehouse locations directly across the street from each other. Combined, Ann Arbor has 42,000 sq. ft. of warehouse space, which store everything from household goods, to record storage, to logistics projects.

Office StaffThe Ann Arbor office specializes in both residential and commercial moving. Every day we move several families locally, while also handling moves for many area businesses and top area universities. We take pride in each move we do, but we are particularly proud of the moves we do for Habitat for Humanity. As the official moving sponsor of Habitat for Humanity of Huron Valley, our Ann Arbor movers handle a number of moves each year for the organization, free of charge, to help get families settled into their new Habitat homes.
